Here’s a list of the most commonly made mistakes when applying semi-cured nails:
Applying Too Close to your cuticle
If your semi cured nail is placed on your cuticle your nail will be more prone to lifting. As your natural nail grows your semi cured nail will lift, creating an edge and unfortunately making it easier to peel off. When placing your nail wraps, it’s important to exfoliate the skin around the nail and to make sure your semi cured nails are placed just above the cuticle for the best results. Storing & Applying Nails
- It’s recommended to store and apply the nail wraps in a cool and dry place. I’d recommend keeping your semi-cured nails in their original packaging and only opening the seal when you’re ready to apply your nails.
- When applying your nails, it is important to ensure that they're done inside. The natural UV light from the sun can start curing the nail, making them difficult to manage and mould to your nail.
UV Light Exposure
It sounds obvious, but believe me I still hear about nails falling off because they’re under cured!
- Semi-cured nails are 60% cured, so they definitely need the full 60 seconds to fully cure. Don’t rush this step! If the nails are fully cured, you’ll maximise the longevity and strength of your new nails.
- There is no harm in curing them for an extra 60 seconds if you are unsure if they are fully cured.
